A resume is a brief summary of your experiences and qualifications. It is usually the first item a potential employer sees about you and it is important to create a resume that combines all of your educational, professional and personal successes and accomplishments.

We commonly use IT as a synonym for computers and computer networks; however, IT is a vast career field with several opportunities available in several areas of specialization.”
Saint Leo alumnus, Chris Martinez '08 provided a great presentation on jobs in the Department of Homeland Security. Information was provided on what a typical day looks like for a Customs agent, including arrests, documentation, and court hearings. Furthermore, requirements to work in the law enforcement side of Homeland Security was discussed and when you should begin your application for a federal position. He advises that many federal positions could take anywhere from 6-9 months to reach the interview stage, so start your application at USAjobs.gov in either September or October for interviews in January.
