“What are employers looking for in today’s college grads?”
“What’s it really like to work in human resources, law enforcement, health care, marketing, or any particular field?”
Chances are if you’re a college student with your sights set on gainful employment in the not-too-distant future, you won’t find the answers to common questions such as these in a textbook – or even online.
Sometimes you just need to consult an expert – someone with experience in your intended field.
Introducing “Leaders in the Industry”
Thanks to a new, live webinar series sponsored by the Center for Online Learning’s Student Services Department, all Saint Leo students will have that opportunity.
Titled “Leaders in the Industry,” the webinar series is open to all Saint Leo University students – online students, as well as those studying at University Campus or any Education Center.
“Students are very interested in finding out what exactly companies are looking for in new hires,” says Katrina Wahlstrom, undergraduate career advisor. “It’s a question we hear from students in every degree program. We’re hoping that the Leaders in the Industry webinars will provide students with that big-picture perspective, as well an opportunity to get answers to their specific career concerns.”
Some of the topics speakers will address include:
- Industry culture
- Salary expectations
- Opportunities for advancement
- Required skills and experience
